Top 3 Questions for Job Interview You Should Know
Question #1 - What Did You Like Best & Least About Your Last Job?This is an extremely popular question that they ask, and it"s doing more than it seems. They are really digging down to try and find out about your character, which will tell them a lot about what they are seeking. They will be looking at what we call "behavioral competencies" which is VERY important for you to know about.
A good example answer would be something along the lines of "What I did like about my last job was the training I was able to receive. I developed "X" skill extremely well, and I hope that it can help me here if I"m able to join your team. What kinds of qualities and skills have been most successfull on this team?
Now... The thing with job interviews is that it is NOT just a set of "questions for job interview" repeated over and over... In fact, it"s more of a LONG conversation. So the above example response is a GREAT first response, but it"s going to go on from there. They"re going to answer the question that you asked them (what kinds of qualities have been successfull,) and you"re going to have to comment on that, too.
Question # 2 - What Have You Learned From Your Mistakes?
They might be trying to "trick" you into revealing a time where you messed up pretty badly, but don"t give them any of that technical information. It helps to be generalistic here, and comment that you"ve had your own ups and downs on the jobs, but you have always done your job successfully.
A great example answer would be something like "That"s a great question, and I have been successfull at every job I"ve had.. But you know, there are always ups and downs. I like to always try and improve myself. For example, I"ve had one or two little hiccups with some customers where I thought their satisfaction was much higher than it actually was. I learned a lot about having to keep on top of those more difficult clients, and really keep their satisfaction high. Have YOU had any customers like that at this company?"
The above answer is really, really great, and it will lead to a VERY interesting discussion, which will "shock" them since they expect these questions to be hushed at and passed over quickly. You"re "flipping the script," which is extremely impressive. This conversation would continue for quite a while, and knowing what to say AFTER that initial response is just as important.

This is a question that is in every single interview. It"s going to lead to either an AWESOME discussion or a TERRIBLE one. Don"t be too shy to say that you are the perfect person for the job... but I would recommend that you do it courteously and without second-guessing yourself. You can say that you have all the skills needed to grow in the company and will be a great benefit.
