Making Resume Cover Letter Writing (Almost) Enjoyable!

Believe it or not you do not need to prick your fingertips with blood and use it as ink in order to write an impressive cover letter that will complement your resume quite nicely. In fact, if you are willing to look at the cover letter writing process in a rather unconventional light you just might find that the process can be almost fun in a challenging sort of way.

Lay off: How to Bring Yourself Back Up

I consider myself falls under ò€˜safely" category, and when I compared how I did it with others who did not, combine with opinion from those of the same category I am in, here are a few notes I want to share.

Bounce Back Up From Lay off

1) I ò€˜allocate" the time for depression. As funny as it sounds, I did make time to feel the ò€˜bad" things about the situation I was in. An ex-colleague told me, "You cannot let go what you did not hold." And I found that to be true. In this case, the time allocated varies accordingly, and since you know you best, find the right amount without being excessive.

2) Get the right support. I can verify that the most important one comes from the people you hold dearly. That could possibly mean your next of kin, children, Uncle Bob or your buddy Joe who you can spend hours with just a cup of Starbuck. The point is: get the right support from the right people. I need it back then and I believe you will need it too.

3) Take a different route. I was doing sales prior to the lay off, and I still fancy doing it after that. I start to look into direct sales but without monthly salary and claim, I pull the hand break a few months after that. As an alternative, I start playing around with internet marketing and I fall in love immediately! Now, I did receive nice compensation from the previous company which I use as my working capital but even if you did not, getting into uncharted territory is fascinating. Give it a shot, and who knows you will like what you see.

4) Avoid temporary job if you can. I can understand that you need to pay something: mortgage, hire purchase, etc. but I find that I make better use of the time reorganizing my life. After all, I did feel temporary relief; not having to report to a boss, so I would not let such golden opportunity pass me by getting into another job. There is so many thing I can do like catching up with old buddies from high school, spend more time watching cartoon show with my little daughter, writing articles, etc. At this point of time, I want to live in the world where ò€˜money is NOT everything."

I noticed that lately, a lot of people have to undergo this dreaded period. The economy is at its all time bad, high paying jobs are scarce, and companies everywhere are looking for exit. Lay off is one of the favorite choice. If you find yourself getting suck into this ò€˜vicious cycle", stay focused. Realized the universal truth that whatever happen, day will turn to night and vice versa. The world will still resolve even if you are stop-dead on your career track. Go out and do something. That will help.
